Matthias Walle Postdoctoral associate in bone imaging, AI, and scientific software

About

I am a postdoctoral associate at the McCaig Institute, University of Calgary, working at the intersection of bone imaging, biomechanics, AI, and scientific software. My research spans opportunistic CT, vertebral strength assessment, longitudinal HR-pQCT, bone remodelling, and reproducible computational methods. Before joining Calgary, I completed my doctorate at ETH Zurich on mechanoregulation of bone remodelling in diabetes, and I continue to care deeply about open science and research tools that remain useful beyond a single paper.
